School fees in the first half of the year
At the end of December we transferred the donations – from symbolic adopters and one-off donations – to Boston schools in the total amount of 544.230 HUF. This week the school confirmed the receipt of the money and sent us detailed information on the use of the donations.
Unfortunately the US Dollar – Hungarian forint exchange rate did not work in our favor and our payments yielded much less Kenyan shillings then we expected, therefore beside the 5 primary school and 4 secondary school children (symbolically adopted pupils) we could only support part of the tuition fee of the selected child – Richard – for the first semester. Nevertheless, owing to your support, he started the new school year in a new uniform.
Thanks to the Hungarian donators this year 11 Kenyan pupils may continue their studies. (The school fee of one more child was not paid through our fund but directly to the school.)
In this photo you can see some of the primary school children in their new uniforms. Based on our experience the uniforms are quite worn towards the end of the year but now they look really great on the children. 🙂
If you would like to become a symbolic adopter or would like to support any of the children in need with a one-off donation, please contact us at [email protected]. Thank you.
